Cancellation & Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Symbai Services. It supplements our Terms & Conditions and applies to all subscriptions and Bounty engagements.
Subscription Services
Subscription Services (Solo, Pod, and any add-ons such as Rush) are billed monthly in advance. Each cycle gives you access to the engineer or pod for the next 30 days at the rate selected during checkout.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a subscription at any time before your next billing date. To cancel, email hello@symbai.dev from the address on the account, or use the cancellation link in your subscription confirmation email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle; you keep access until that date.
We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months when you cancel mid-cycle, except as expressly described under "Refund Policy" below.
Refund Policy — the Symbai Guarantee
First-month money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your first month of a Solo or Pod subscription, email us at hello@symbai.dev within 30 days of your initial charge with a brief explanation of what fell short. We will refund your first month's subscription fee in full.
The first-month guarantee applies once per customer and covers only the initial Subscription Service cycle. It does not apply to Bounty engagements, third-party pass-through fees (e.g., infrastructure or licenses paid to providers on your behalf), or subsequent monthly cycles after the first.
Bounty engagements
Bounty (fixed-scope project) work is paid on delivery of the agreed scope. Refunds for Bounty engagements are governed by the project brief signed at kickoff. By default, payment is due once you accept the deliverable in writing.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
FAQ
What is included in my Subscription Services price?
Your stated monthly fee covers the engineer's or pod's time, AI tooling we use to deliver the work, and standard communication channels. It does not cover third-party costs we incur on your behalf (e.g., AWS bills for infrastructure we provision in your account, paid licenses for tools you ask us to set up). Those are billed separately and disclosed before incurring them.
What if I pause work for part of the month?
Subscription cycles run regardless of how much work you assign during them. If you anticipate needing to pause for an extended period, cancel before the next billing date and re-subscribe later — you will not lose your seat for at least 60 days after cancellation.
What if Symbai cannot deliver because of a third-party outage?
If a Symbai-side issue prevents us from delivering a Subscription Service for more than 5 consecutive business days, contact us and we will issue a pro-rata credit for the affected period. Outages caused by third-party providers (e.g., AWS, GitHub) or by your own systems are not covered by this credit.
